Leona O. Hill

Leona Owen Hill, 80, of Alfred, died February 15 at the Goodall Hospital in Sanford after a lengthy illness.She was born in Waterboro on September 28, 1924, the daughter of Ralph and Alzina (Thyng) Owen. She was a graduate of the former Waterboro High School.She was a lifelong resident who raised her family on a small farm in Alfred. She was a member of the Alfred Parish Congregational Church.Her interest included reading, crossword puzzles, bowling, playing cards and dining out.Her husband, Stanley Hill, Sr., died in 1985.Survivors include 3 sons, Stanley Hill, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Sanford, Carroll Dana (Sam) Hill and his wife Beatrice, also of Sanford, Wayne Brunelle and his wife Cheryl of Rogersville, TN, 2 daughters, Sandra Murley and her husband Charles of Alfred, Susan Creteau and her husband Russ of Shapleigh, a brother, Lucene (Bill) Owen of Hollis, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.A graveside service will be held in the spring in Evergreen Cemetery in Alfred. Arrangements are through the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford.
