Lauriston R. Crocker

lauriston crocker
Lauriston "Larry" Crocker, 61, of Sanford passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Friday, January 20, 2023. He was born on October 10, 1961, to Elmer Sr. and Patricia (Palmer) Crocker in Sanford. Larry attended Massabesic and Sanford schools. Larry started his work life as a young man pumping gas for The Melanson's of Sanford, picking eggs at Bernier’s Egg Farm, and working at both Spang and LaValley Lumber Companies. Larry earned his CDL driver's license and was employed at Cabletron Systems and retired from there in 2003. In his younger years he was a member of the American Civil Defense Association and the Salvation Army. Larry loved his motorcycle, having donuts with "the crew" at Dunkin Donuts, attending burnouts and mud rallies and eating out (especially seafood). He was also known to be burning tires at Ossipee Fairgrounds where he earned a couple of trophies. He was doting grandfather. He found the most enjoyment watching his grandson play sports and his granddaughter clog. He was also a proud God Father to nieces, Sarah Chabot, Andrea Eisenhower, Kendra Brice and Maggie Pomeroy. He also loved his dog, Brady. Larry was a man full of life and love. He had very strong work ethic. He was a social butterfly and liked being around people. He made friends wherever he went and would always give a helping hand to anyone in need. If he picked you up hitchhiking, he would know your whole life's story before he dropped you off. He was a wonderful man and will be missed. He is predeceased by his parents and a sister Sylda Crocker. Survivors include his wife of over 30 years, Rachel (Chabot) Crocker, daughter Ashley Mellen, son Aaron Mellen, grandchildren Kendrick Hall Woods and Elysia D. Boudreau, sisters Cheryl Lee Brice, Raelene Kearney and her husband Dennis, June Dinsmore and Rose Norton and her husband Craig, brother Elmer Crocker and his partner Denise Letellier and Dorrance Crocker and his partner Donna Hirth and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. 1. Larry was a patient in the lab I worked at for a while. He came in just about every week, and for a little while, multiple times a week, and he always said “left arm, sweetie. It’s a little off to the side and it’s crooked to the left.” with the biggest smile on his face. His laugh and smile always made my day. He will be so so missed. My condolences to you, Mrs. Crocker and the rest of your family.
