Laurette P. Berube

Laurette P. Berube, 77, of Sanford died at her home on October 21, 2010.Laurette was born in Providence, Rhode Island on October 18, 1933 to Gerrard and Hermionie (Delisle) Paradis and attended local schools. She and her family moved to Maine in the 1950's. In 1958 She married Robert B. Berube and together they raised one son.Laurette and her husband lived in many different places while he was serving in the military. She worked as a waitress in several different restaurants throughout her life. She was a devoted Catholic and attended St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, St. Ignatius Church in Sanford. She enjoyed knitting and liked to make afghans, which she would give to family members. Laurette also enjoyed taking trips to the White Mountains, Canada and Machias, ME. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Robert Berube of Sanford; her son, John Berube of Springvale; three grandsons, Tyler Patrick Berube, Austin John Berube and Conner Robert Berube all of Springvale and five siblings, Jackie Normandin of Providence, RI, Nelson Paradis of Sarasota, FL, Theresa Gervais of Biddeford, Aline Mahoney of Saco and Gerrard Paradis Jr. of Dayton.Visiting hours will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 26th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 27th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, St. Ignatius Church located on St. Ignatius Street in Sanford. Interment will follow at the Southern Maine Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider having masses offered for Laurette.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
