Kenneth A. Roberts

North WaterboroKenneth A. Roberts, 78, a life long resident of North Waterboro died early Saturday morning November 17, 2001 at his home.Mr. Roberts was born on May 20, 1923 in Waterboro, ME. He was the son of Harley and Forestina Johnson Roberts. He attended Waterboro schools. For many years Mr. Roberts was self-employed as a logger. Following his work in the woods he worked for the Maine Department of Transportation for over 18 years and retired from there. For the past several years Mr. Roberts worked for the road commissioner of Waterboro.He was a member of the Waterboro Fire Department, and served as chief of the North Waterboro division for many years.Some of Mr. Roberts interest's included hunting, fishing, restoring antique furniture and raising prize steer, which he often exhibited at local fairs.Predeceasing him in 1997 was his wife Marjorie Knight Roberts.Surviving are two sons, Barry Roberts of N. Waterboro, Allan Roberts of Limerick; two daughters, Suzanne Evans of E. Waterboro, Ruth Lewis of Limerick, and a brother Walter J. Roberts of Portland. Also surviving are five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday November 20, 2001 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale followed by a 2:00 PM Funeral Service at the funeral home with the Rev.
