Portland – Kathleen Marie Mosley, 71, of Portland, Maine, passed away on September 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born April 29, 1955, in Portland, the daughter of the late Peter Aloysius Ridge and Dorothy Ellen Adams.

Kathy was a devoted wife, an amazing mother, and above all, one of the kindest and warmest people you could ever meet. She had a gentle soul, a generous heart, and an extraordinary ability to make the people around her feel loved, welcomed, and at home.

Her greatest joy was her family. She shared a deep and enduring love with her husband of almost 48 years, Michael Mosley, and was the devoted mother of Alana Fuller and her husband, Brian, and of Matthew Mosley and his wife, Jenna. Her five grandsons — Colin, Lawrence and Roger Fuller, and Fitzpatrick and Cormac Mosley — held a particularly special place in her heart. She cherished every moment with them and took immense pride in watching them grow.

Kathy also shared an incredible bond with her two older sisters, Michaelene Mifflin and Elizabeth Davies, who preceded her in death, and with her sister-in-law, Joellen McGovern, who treated her with such kindness and generosity. Their relationships were a treasured part of her life, built on years of memories, laughter, love, and an unmistakable sisterly connection.

Her love extended far beyond her immediate family. Kathy had a remarkable way of making everyone feel like they belonged. Her children’s friends were never simply “Alana and Matthew’s friends” — they became part of the family. So loved and respected by all of them, she was affectionately regarded as a bonus mom by many. Her warmth and humor were part of what made her so unforgettable.

A lifelong Portlander and proud West End girl, Kathy was deeply connected to the city she called home her entire life. She attended St. Dominic’s School and graduated from Portland High School in 1973. Maine was more than simply where she lived; it was part of who she was, woven into the memories, friendships, and experiences that shaped her life.

Kathy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her kindness, her wit, and most of all, the tremendous love she gave so freely to her family and to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Her family takes comfort in knowing that the love Kathy gave throughout her life will continue through the people she touched, the family she cherished, and the many lives she made brighter simply by being in them. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
