SOUTH PORTLAND - Katherine Elizabeth Llewellyn, 94 formerly of South Portland, died Thursday March 1, 2012 at Mercy Hospital, surrounded by her loving family and spiritual caregivers. She was born in Portland a daughter of John E. and Margaret A. Foley McGeehan. She attended South Portland schools and South Portland High School. Katherine worked for many years with Carolyn's Caterer's and later as the cafeteria manager at Maine National Bank. For 10 years she worked for the Mother's Club at the First Congregational Church of South Portland. Katherine loved children and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. For many years she worked at the voting polls during the political elections. Katherine was predeceased by her son Robert G. Llewellyn, II; three sisters, Mary Ives, Sara Coffield and Margaret Whitmore; two brothers, Andrew M. Rielly and Edward J. McGeehan. Survivors include, two daughters, Joyce Gilbert and her husband Kent of Exeter, New Hampshire, Linda Hennessey and her husband Jack of Scarborough; a brother Larry McGeehan of Florida. Her greatest joy was her three grandchildren, Troy Gilbert, Todd Gilbert and Timothy Gilbert and six great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Pine Point Center for the loving care they gave her. Kay truly loved them. Visitation will be held 2 to 4p.m. Sunday at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Services will be private with burial in Calvary Cemetery, South Portland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Pine Point Center Activity Fund, 67 Pine Point Road, Scarborough, Maine 04074 in honor of Kay "Nana" Llewellyn.Online condolences may be expressed below.
