LEBANON – The amazing woman that was June Belle Goodfield passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, her loved ones by her side. She was born on June 29th, 1931, in Wolfboro, N.H., to Earnest and Mildred (Newhall) French.
She attended Spaulding High School in Rochester, NH up to 1949. Although she didn't graduate, she worked hard to receive her GED. She was employed at the G.E. factory in Somersworth, NH until she retired after 30 years.
June will be remembered for her bold, teasing sense of humor and incredible love for family, for all her listening and caring, talks and sharing, laughter and tears throughout all the years.
She enjoyed vacations and trips with family, family reunions, birthday parties, restaurant outings with the “Lunch Bunch”, and especially the HUGE Christmas parties where everyone was gathered together in one place… always looking for an excuse to gather family and friends together. She loved poetry and wrote many rhymes about family and friends that we are happy to share, just ask any one of us. She loved to crochet clothing for her grandchildren and beautiful blankets of all sizes. Other likes were crossword puzzles, westerns, and beating people in cribbage. She was also very proud of the fact that she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mother of 9 children: Judy Waterhouse and James, Kathy and Mike Grassi, Susan and Joe St. Laurent, Diane and Jerry Lassor, Cindy and Steve Fontneau, Wayne and Kelley Goodfield, Patty and Mark Hanson, Danny Goodfield, and David Goodfield. Grammy to 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. She is the one that started it all. The strongest and sharpest woman any of us have ever known. She never forgot a birthday (spouses included) and she loved each and every one of us. She will be greatly missed. She leaves behind so many wonderful memories and traditions for us to carry on as her legacy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence (Buddy); three brothers, Lewis, David, & Kenny; grandchildren, Jessica and Zachary.
SERVICES: Visiting hours are from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, with a memorial service at 12:00 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale; on Saturday, June 29th there will be a celebration of life on the day that would have been her 93rd birthday. You are welcome to attend as we honor her! Please contact the funeral home for location.
June was a spit fire if she had something to say she said it. She was kind but spunky, and I’m glad I knew her. Heart felt sympathy to the family, especially Danny and David.
June was the most kindest person. after my sister passed she invited me to her Family Christmas and her birthday. That family I mean all didn’t bat an eye that I was there. I felt so welcome. and had a great time. That is June what’s one more. and I would go up to her? and say hello right away she would say WHO are you. just to tease me that I will miss she did it to me at all the events. love u always My adopted Mom
Although I didn’t see her so much as an adult but as a child we spent a lot of time together. Always a fun time. I will miss her.
My condolences to the family. She truly was a leader.
She spoke her mind and didn’t let people walk all over her. And she was kind.
I always was amazed how she would remember my birthday. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one.
A beautiful woman who loved life and family. She will be missed by many and remembered with loving memories by all that loved her. Rest easy. RIP.

I was blessed to have spent the last 9 years getting to know her ❤️
When I was pregnant with Zachary(her great grandson) my baby shower was at her house all the way up in the country! It was so nice having her family host. One of his baby blankets was crocheted by her and kept to this day.
Im very sorry for the loss of such a wonderful family icon. All the beautiful stories shared are with such love.
