Judy Phelps, 63, of Shapleigh, Maine, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on February 16, 2023, in Biddeford, ME.
She was born on November 23, 1959, one of 12 children to James and Jacqueline (Turner) Brooks in Biddeford. She grew up in Arundel and graduated from Biddeford High School.
She went to work for Cumberland Farms in Connecticut where she met Mark Phelps. The two got married and had two sons. She brought her family to Maine where they have resided for many years.
Being an independent person with a strong work ethic, Judy ran her own residential cleaning business with much success, affording her and her family a happy and fruitful life.
In her free time, Judy loved to be outdoors and at their camp in Patten. In the winter she and her family would ski and snowmobile and in the summer, Judy loved floating in the pool.
She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren. She looked forward to taking them on trips to Florida.
Judy was there to care for her family members that needed support and helped in any way she could.
She was a caring mother, loving wife, hard worker and she brought happiness to all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is predeceased by her parents, and siblings John, Jim, and Janice.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Mark Phelps of Shapleigh, sons Mark Phelps and his fiancé Zoe Rice of Asheville, NC and Matthew Phelps of Shapleigh, twin granddaughters Lily and Summer Phelps, and Jordan Stuart, siblings Joanne, Jackie, June, Joseph, Jeff, Jay, Jerry, and Joey, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday February 25, 2023, at the American Legion Hall, 656 Main St., Sanford from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. All are welcome.
