Judith A. DesRoberts, 70, of Sanford, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, after a period of declining health.
Born on January 18, 1954, in Sanford, Maine, to Arthur and Peggy (Davey) Roy, Judith was a cherished member of the community. She was educated in local Catholic schools and graduated from Sanford High School, class of 1972. In 1973, Judith married Michael DesRoberts, and together they shard 50 years of a loving and devoted marriage, raising two wonderful children.
During her working life, Judith held several retail and customer service positions within the Sanford area. However, it was her passion for travel that brought her the greatest joy, particularly her trips to Disney World and an unforgettable journey to Alaska. Known for her quiet and gentle demeanor, Judith found immense pleasure in the simple joys of life and treasured the moments spent at home with her family.
Judith's love and dedication to her family were unwavering. As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she took immense pride in nurturing and caring for her loved ones. Her affection extended to animals, with a special fondness for her dear dog, Ruby. Judith's kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her son James DesRoberts, and her sister Jane Guay.
Judith leaves behind her devoted husband, Michael DesRoberts of Sanford; her cherished children, Brian DesRoberts and his wife Kimberly of Sanford, and Kelly DesRoberts and her life partner Lefty Andrews of Sanford; and her adored grandchildren, Sawyer, Sean and his wife Molly, Piper, Cooper, and Bree. She is also survived by her loving brother, Arthur Roy and his wife Gerry of Sanford; her dear sisters-in-law, Nancy DesRoberts and her husband Steve Small and Rachel Bennett and her husband Peter; and several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Judith's wishes, arrangements will be private.
Arrangements are under the compassionate care of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice in Judith’s honor.
Rest In Peace Judy
Judy family, Iam so sorry to hear of Judy, passing. We hung around with each other on the East side when we were much younger. We had a lot of laughs. Judy, you will be missed. RIP Love, Rachel ( Collette ) Burbank
