Judi A. Tozier

January 11, 1947 ~ August 25, 2025
Our beloved mother, Judi A. Tozier, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, at the age of 78, after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia. This obituary is not a reflection of her illness, but a celebration of the vibrant life she lived before it.
Born on January 11, 1947, in Connecticut as Judith Ann Meyers, Judi was the daughter of Edward and Thelma Meyers. She spent her childhood in California before moving to Florida, where her mother and stepfather, Hoyt Leighton, raised her through her teenage years. It was in Florida that she began her own family, marrying Harold “Larry” Perras (d. 2016) and welcoming her daughter, Lee.
In the years that followed, Judi moved to Maine, where she married Leo E. Tozier (d. 1998). Together they built a life in Bucksport and welcomed their daughter, Brandi. Judi worked alongside the family at the Tozier store while raising her girls and creating a warm, loving home. After Leo’s passing, she remained in Bucksport—a town she deeply loved. Her days were filled with tending to her plants, decorating, and zipping around her yard on her tractor. She took great joy in watching her daughters marry, raise families of their own, and in becoming “MiMi” to her cherished grandchildren.
Family vacations to the beach, birthday celebrations, holidays, and time with her grandchildren—including the four-legged ones—were her greatest happiness. Judi also had a well-known passion for shopping, which always brought her joy.
As her health declined, Judi moved to Old Orchard Beach in 2022 to be closer to family. She later transitioned to memory care and rehabilitation communities in Cape Elizabeth and Falmouth, where she was lovingly cared for until her passing.
Judi will be remembered for her booming laughter, her captivating storytelling, and her fierce, independent spirit.
She is survived by her daughters, Lee Perras-Fontaine and her husband Anthony of Chicopee, MA, and Brandi Tozier-Duggan and her husband Joshua of Old Orchard Beach, ME; her grandchildren, Brianna Fontaine Mrozinski of Belchertown, MA, Tyler Tozier-McCaffrey, and Just Duggan, both of Old Orchard Beach, ME; her sisters, Elaine Meyers and partner Cindy Hasemann of Pinellas Park, FL, and Sherri Murphy and her late husband James Murphy of Cypress, CA; along with many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and former co-workers.
In accordance with Judi’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home of Portland.
Judi….we had been like sisters for 40 years. We shared lots of laughs like shopping with Sheree. I am thankful that you are now in peace. I will miss you and know we will watch over Brandi and the girls…always ….Cin
