Josephine E. Monahan

Josephine E. Monahan, 86, of Springvale, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. She was born in South Berwick, Maine on December 7, 1919 a daughter of Victor and Elizabeth Bagley.For 42 years, along with the late Philip Monahan, they owned and operated Jo- Emma Jewelry in Springvale, a business founded with the help of her father, Victor. She loved traveling and cooking especially during the holidays. She cherished the relationship she had with her three grandsons, and was instrumental in their up bringing. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Phillips and her husband, Ed of Springvale, three grandsons, Tyler Phillips, Jesse Phillips and Zachary Phillips, two sisters, Beverly Longtine and Natalie Jillson.Contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of one's choice.Burial will be at a later date in the family lot at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street Springvale.To send the family a note of condolence, please click the "Condolences" tab at left.
