Joseph W. Savary, 80, of Springvale, a longtime resident of Lawrence, MA, died unexpectedly at home on July 3rd.He was born in Lowell, MA on March 28, 1927, a son of Arthur and Melanise (Arpin) Savary , and attended Lowell schools. He served with the US Army during the occupation of Germany during World War II..He was employed for 25 years with Raytheon in Andover, MA, retiring in 1994.Joseph had been a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Lawrence.He and his wife enjoyed traveling together. They went on numerous cruises, to Rome, Italy, and made several excursions to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. He also enjoyed Bingo.He is survived by his wife, Claire A. (Fortier) Savary of Springvale, 7 stepchildren, Paul Perron, Janet Sarcione and her husband Angelo, Kathleen Wilder and her husband John, all of Danville, NH, Susan Coco and her husband Keith of Merrimac, MA, Sandra Chasse and her husband Don, of Springvale, William Perron of Salem, NH, Laurie Ann Blake of Benton, a brother, Raymond Savary and his wife Therese of Dracut, MA, and by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church in Springvale.
