Joseph D. Letourneau

ACTON, Maine - Joseph D. Letourneau passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on August 10, 2020 at the age of 42. He was born in Ware, MA. He spent most of his youth in North Berwick, ME after his family relocated in 1987. He graduated from Noble High School in 1996, where he was a strong competitor in the wrestling program. In 2000, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from Unity College where he loved competing as a member of the Unity Woodsmen Team. Joe was a loving and devoted husband, son, brother, and friend. Words cannot express how deeply he will be missed. Joe was an entrepreneur at heart, starting his first business shortly after graduating from college. Soon thereafter, he joined forces with his wife, Mary and the two of them developed several successful businesses over the years, including Earthworks, Letourneau Forest Products, Keepin' It Local, and their most recent venture, Local 130. His businesses were a direct reflection of his many skills and passions in life. At the time of his passing, Joe was fulfilling his appointment as Acton's District 2 Road Commissioner. Joe will be remembered as a homebody who always looked forward to sharing laughs and beer with family and friends. He had a lifelong passion for farming and spending time outdoors. As a young man, he enjoyed spending his free time restoring antique tractors and participating in tractor pulls at the local fairs. He always treasured time spent with his father and brother, hunting and fishing. He was particularly fond of spending time with his parents and family while camping or making maple syrup from start to finish. He will be forever remembered as "Uncle Joe" and for his gentle demeanor, frequent phone calls, and sense of humor. His wit and jokes will be missed by all. Maple Saturdays and cookouts with family and friends will never be the same without him. Joseph is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Mary Demers Letourneau of Acton, ME; his parents, Daniel and Therese Letourneau of North Berwick, ME; his sister, Christine (Letourneau) Wellman and her husband John of Sanford, ME; and his brother, Paul Letourneau and his wife Beth (Turgeon) and their two sons, Ca$h and Mack of Springvale, ME.Joseph will be missed dearly by his extended family. He is survived by Mary's parents, Patrick and Adele Demers of Acton, ME; and Mary's siblings, Mark Demers and his wife, Cindy (Clough) and their children, Benjamin and Heidi; Jeanne Demers and her husband, Richard Christianson; Matthew Demers and his wife, Robin (Bromley) and their children, Logan and Joelle; John Demers and his wife, Aimee (Carr) and their children, Alexis, Dylan, Turner, and Victoria Hibbard and her daughter, Finley; Luke Demers; Peter Demers and his wife Amy Wright; Michael Demers and his wife, Amy (McDougal) and their children, Taylor, Ryan, Kyle, and Colin; Daniel Demers and his wife Barbara (Martinez) and their children, Phoenix and Sol; and David Demers and his son, Elijah.Joe is survived by his many uncles, aunts, and cousins, Andre Letendre and his partner, Elaine Jones and Andre's children, Christian Letendre and his wife, Shelley and Chad Letendre and his wife, Jennifer; Jane Letendre and her children, Kathleen Argueso, Michael Letendre and his wife, Michelle, Hope (Letendre) Costigan and her husband, Ray, and Heather (Letendre) Rosati and her husband, Tommy; Linda (Letourneau) Smith and her husband, Garland; Conrad and Marianne Letourneau and their children, Erin Letourneau and Jeff Letourneau; Peter and Brenda Gaudreau and their children, Eric Gaudreau and his partner Caitlin Woodward and Chad Gaudreau and his wife, Heather; and John Benedict and his wife, Kathy.Joseph was predeceased by his grandmother, Rose Methot of Belchertown, MA; grandfather, Nelson Letourneau of Ware, MA; grandparents, Arthur and Leola Letendre of Ware, MA; and uncle, Richard Letendre of Ware, MA.Joe is survived by his closest friends, including Jeffrey and Kim Hackett; Trapper and Allison St. Jean and their children, Tracer and Lakely; Timothy and Amy Sue Marden and their son, Tucker; Kevin and Amy Clock and their children, Robert, Elizabeth, Abigail, and Kiley; Nathanael and Kaitlin Chamblee and their daughter, Noelle; Christopher and Katie Wellman and their son, Parker; Sean and Stacey Bemis and their children, Cameron and Connor; David White; Steve Cookson and his son, Alex; Mark Cookson; and Colby and Samantha Adams.Visiting hours for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020 from 4PM to 7PM at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.There will be a private church service held on Friday, August 21, 2020. All relatives and friends are invited to an outdoor celebration of life at Blackbird Farm following Friday's church service from noon onwards. All guests are encouraged to bring a chair and their best memories to the farm.
