John R. Ranberg

John R. Ranberg, 58, of Sanford passed away peacefully at his residence in Sanford.He was born on December 30, 1961 to the late John and Althea (Thyng) Ranberg in Glenburnie, MD. The family then moved to Sanford where he attended local schools and graduated from Sanford High School. John made his career in electrical sales and was currently employed by Rexel Electric Supplies where he had been for several years. He took his work very seriously and was dedicated to do the best job possible. He was a communicant of the St. Therese of Lisieux Parish Holy Family Church in Sanford and served as an usher.As an avid sports enthusiast, John was especially a fan of New England sports teams. He took his love for sports into the community and was proud to be "Coach Ranberg", coaching kids in local youth soccer, baseball and basketball.He also enjoyed his walks on the beach with his dog Lexii.John will be remembered for his sense of humor and was always able to lighten things up with laughter and his quick wit. A hardworking man, loving husband, supporting father, grandfather, brother and friend, John will be forever missed. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Joanne Ranberg, his son Matthew Ranberg and his wife Rio of Sanford, his daughter Kristen Ranberg, of Sanford, his grandchildren Addison, Marcello and Jonah Ranberg, and Julianna "Peach" DesLauriers, his sister Janet Gauthier and her husband Dan of Sanford, his half sister Barbara Smith of Wheaton, IL, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Lexii. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, 66 North Ave. Sanford with an hour of visitation prior at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation in his name to any of the Sanford youth sports.To leave a message of condolence click tab at left.
