  1. So sorry to hear this terrible news. John was a lovely man. A gentle soul with a constant, though often understated, smile. I always picture him serenely sailing or doing some wonderful recreating in beautiful Maine as he effortlessly provided incredible cardiology in a cool, unpretentious and wonderfully endearing manner. I’m sure his patients adored him as we all did at HMS. Very sorry. I always looked forward to the amiable chat or connection when the rare shared patient popped up or we crossed paths at a reunion. Will be terribly missed by all.
    Most heartfelt condolences to all.
    Adam

  2. I just learned of your loss of Dr. John Lualdi, I first met him after having a heart attack at age 45, I was his youngest heart patient and he was very kind to me. I am so sad to learn that he passed away, he was a real treasure, kind, caring and he didn’t have a big ego like many doctors do. I am so sorry for your loss and wanted to send my heartfelt sympathy and love ❤️ to his family and friends. The people of Maine have lost a true hero and wonderful human being.

  3. John was one of the most outstanding men I have ever met at Milton. He was a good soul with a great smile. Always making me laugh. Smart as a whip and always a friendly comforting person.

Kathy, my sincere sympathies my friend! Sending you and your family my prayers as you heal.

  4. Kathy and family,
My family’s thoughts and prayers are with you all. I am so glad to have known and worked with John. Always helpful, thoughtful, and starting/finishing most conversations with a chuckle… I will miss him too!

  5. To Kathy and family, I am so sad to hear of your loss. Truly a uniquely kind person and compassionate physician. He is missed by many.

  6. He was a very fine physician. And unlike many, he actually knew how the medications worked and picked the best one for each patient. May he rest in well-deserved peace.

  7. I didn’t know John well, but as a friend to the whole Lualdi family, it was always obvious to me how much love he had for his family (parents, siblings, Kathy, and his children). My heart breaks for you, but his love remains strong. May it carry you through this difficult time, and onward. With love and prayers, Joy

  8. Dr. John Lualdi was an immensely talented cardiologist. More importantly he was a remarkable man. I knew him only as my cardiologist, however, as a (now retired) oncology nurse, I have met many doctors …both as nurse and patient. He cared. He always came into the room with a smile…and he listened. He loved a good tale and enjoyed a good laugh. Every now and then, he just called me on the phone…unexpectedly, to see how I was doing. That’s the kind of man he was. He cared. Gone far too soon, my prayers go out to his family. Blessings to you all.

  9. Kathy – – So deeply saddened by this news. John was such a kind, understated, caring human. Sending you and your family lots of love, even though it’s been decades and many miles since we were together at your beautiful wedding.
    Your 3rd cousin, Lyn Swett

  10. Dr. Lualdi became my cardiologist when I moved to Maine, and we soon learned that we shared some of his teachers in common. I always felt better after seeing him. He was the consummate professional, always available, and able to to make medical language understandable to the non-professional. I miss him. My deepest sympathy to Mrs. Lualdi and his children. A grateful patient.

  11. Thinking of all of the Lualdi family and sending prayers for strength through this time. I worked with Dr. Lualdi during my time on R7 and R1, also in my float RN years. He always took time with patients and families, and nurses to have the conversations of status and answer all questions. Dr. Lualdi will be a missed member of our cardiac service team. Nina Swan, MSN, RN

  12. I knew John through work as a noninvasive and clinical cardiologist. His work was thorough and his analytical skills were unquestionable. I worked closely with him for years and will never forget his sense of humor and his laugh. And his clinical judgment.

  13. I worked with John at MMC. Every time I met him in the echo lab or at a meeting he immediately found something to chat to me about-usually A trip to Ireland golfing or a story about Adrian who I also worked with. He also shared stories about his time working in Augusta years ago and the days when his kids were little. I could tell from the fellows and his patients that he was a great cardiologist and he will be sorely missed.

  14. John was my roommate for 3 years in medical school and a close friend. He was always kind, generous, a great listener and the best roommate one could hope for. He loved being a cardiologist and father/husband with two wonderful kids that he was so proud to talk about with me. He faced his illness and death with remarkable courage and grace. I am grateful to have had his friendship for so many years and will miss his easygoing smile, the twinkle in his eye and running together as we did many times in medical school and several times many years later. My condolences to all who knew and loved him.

  15. Dr Lualdi was my cardiologist for almost 14 years. I consider my self immensely blessed to have been his patient, he was a wonderful and caring Dr. He and I talked about our children who were similar ages, colleges, travel, and such. He was so, so proud of them. My father was a cardiologist so I always really respected and admired Dr Lualdi, and I am thankful to have gotten to know him as a wonderful person too. I will miss him, my love to his family.

  16. Dr. Lualdi was my husband’s cardiologist
for several years. He was such a kind and caring doctor who made visits to see Chris after his heart surgery. My condolences to the Lualdi Family.
    With sincere sympathy.

    Sylvia

  17. First I’d like to say how sad I am. Dr Lualdi first helped my late husband and we both truly appreciated his tender caring ways. He even called our home after hours as we had a concern. And what a memory he had. Then when I had a need for a cardiologist, how blessed I felt to have same care. I so miss my dr. In fact, I was going to call office to see if he might be coming back to work. My condolences to the Lualdi family. A huge loss all around.

  18. Kathy:
My deepest sympathies to you and your children. John was the BEST part of our class at Milton.
    I am so sad.
    Fondly and with sympathy,
    Todd Wyett
