John D. Carpenito

John D. Carpenito, 69 of Shapleigh and formerly of Billerica, MA died Tuesday November 5, 2002 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford, Me.Mr. Carpenito was born on September 19, 1933 in Medford, Ma. He was the son of Patrick and Maria Albenese Carpenito. He attended Massachusetts's schools and worked for many years as a meat cutter for De Moulas Market Basket Stores through New England. He also served in the National Guard.People may recall Mr. Carpenito as "Johnny Cap", a radio DJ for WOTW in Nashua, NH. This was not only a part time job for Mr. Carpenito, but also his favorite hobby.Surviving is his wife of 49 years Ann Clark Carpenito of Shapleigh, Me; four sons, John D. Jr. of Ma. Albert A. Sr. of Billerica, Ma, Dennis J. of Nashua, NH, William "Buddy" Carpenito of Fl; two daughters, Karen A. Carpenito and Cindy L. O'Grady both of Billerica, Ma. Also surviving are three brothers, Anthony of Fl, Patrick of Lynn, Ma, James "Butchy" Carpenito of Wa; two sisters, Louise O'Connell of Boylston, Ma, Phyllis Carpenito of Az, ten grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.At john's request services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, or the American Diabetes Association.
