Acton, MaineJohn V. Brown, 84, of Acton, Maine, died Wednesday December 25, 2002 at The Goodall Hospital in Sanford.He was born in Milton, NH, on August 12, 1918, the son of Ambrose M. and Ora M. (Blouin) Brown and attended schools there.Mr. Brown worked in the quality control department of General Electric in Somersworth for 27 years, retiring in 1978.Mr. Brown and his wife Ruth have wintered in Lakeland Florida for the past 24 years.He was a member of The Dover Elks Club, The American Legion of Somersworth, The Grange of Somersworth and The General Electric Retiries Association.Mr. Brown enjoyed playing cribbage and woodworking.He is survived by his wife of 50 years Ruth (Young) Brown of Acton, ME/ Lakeland FL; several nieces and nephews.Mr. Brown was predeceased by a brother Ambrose M. Brown, JR, who died while serving his country during WWII.A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday at Notre Dame de Lourdes Roman Catholic Church 10 Payne St, Springvale, Maine.
