Joann T. Drury

Joann T. Drury, 67 years old, of Sanford, ME, died Wednesday February 23, 2005 at her home.Ms. Drury was born on May 14, 1937 in Laconia, NH. She was the daughter of Walter E. and Katherine Sinclair Wakefield Sr. She was a graduate of Berwick High School, and worked at General Electric for many years.Ms. Drury's real workplace was at home raising her five children. Her family was her first priority, and spending time with them was her greatest pleasure. Ms. Drury also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, doing arts and crafts, visiting with her friends and traveling.Predeceasing her is a son Lance E. Drury, a granddaughter Cle-an W. Drury, and her fiance Wilfred Violette.Surviving are three daughters; Laurie E. Rose and her husband David of Berwick, Linda M. Quint of Sanford, Liza A. Johnson and her husband Bryan of Strafford, NH; a son Lawrence F. Drury Jr. and his wife Jean of Springvale; a brother Walter E. Wakefield Jr. of Pinetta, FL, nine grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours for Ms. Drury will be held this Monday, February 28, 2005 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Carll - Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale, ME; where services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at 10:30 AM.Committal services will be held in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery in Berwick.For those that desire, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Main St. Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.
