Joan Zizka

Joan Florence Brumfield Zizka of Sanford passed away on Friday June 28, 2013 at her home. She was born in Hartford, CT, on October 11, 1932, the daughter of the late Perry Carlton Brumfield and Theodora Margaret Brundza.Joan moved to Gurleyville, CT when she was eight years old and just happened to live across the street from the boy she would grow up to marry and spend the rest of her life with. Joan and her husband traveled the United States, living in several locations before finally settling in Sanford. Joan's greatest joys in life were her husband, her children, her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and her work through the years with the first graders in Mrs. Arnold's class at Carl J. Lamb Elementary School. Joan was a joy to everyone who knew her for her kindness, her sense of humor and her love for those around her.
