Joan Dion

Joan C. Dion, 67, of Sanford died at the Newton Center in Sanford on July 1, 2005.Joan was born on November 29, 1937 in Manhattan, NY to Joseph and Grace Comer Licker. She was a graduate of Bryant High School. In 1957, she married her husband Ronald and together they had 6 children.Joan was a devoted mother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She went on several family camping trips; she really enjoyed the outdoors so these trips were very enjoyable. Joan enjoyed crocheting things in her spare time. She liked making pillows and afghans, which she would lovingly give to her friends and family. Some of her other interests included bowling and reading. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Goodall Hospital and Newton Center for their caring and compassion throughout Joan's illness.Joan was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Dion Sr. and one son, Ronald Dion Jr.Surviving are 4 sons, Richard Dion, Brad Dion and Alan Dion all of Sanford and Kerry Dion of Daytona, Florida; one daughter, Debbie Dion of Sanford; one brother, Joseph Licker of Burlington, Vermont; two sisters, Diane Andrews of Wells and Vinnie Licker of Biddeford; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and one great-granddaughter.To send the family a note of condolence, please return to the "condolence" icon at the top left of this page.
