Jeannette M. Smith

Jeannette Dubois Smith, 78 years old, of Sanford, ME died Wednesday November 26, 2003.Mrs. Smith was born on July 27, 1925 in Sanford, ME. She was the daughter of Wilrose and Jean Dumont Dubois. At the age of three Jeannette, along with her family, moved to Canada. It was there she was raised as a child and attended schools. At the age of 16 she moved back to the States, and took up residence in Sanford. For several years she worked at the Sanford Goodall Mills, and at the age of 62 she retired from Seamlock Carpet in 1987.Jeannette was an active member of Notre Dame Church. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne, and the daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting, but above all she loved to fish.Predeceasing Jeannette is her husband Hubert Smith, brothers Conrad, Elois, Jean-Pierre, and sister Simone.Surviving are two daughters; Bernice Smith of Athol, MA, Kathleen Smith of Spokane, WA; two sons, Michael Smith of Auburn, ME, and Henry Smith of Sanford, ME. Also surviving are six brothers, four sisters, six grandchildren, Danielle, Chelsea, Chas, Will, Jes, Matt, and Katelyn and many nieces and nephews.Visiting hours for Mrs. Smith will be held on Friday November 28, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale, ME. On Saturday please meet the family for a 9:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ignatius R.C. Church of Sanford. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.For those that desire memorials may be made to the donors choice.
