Jeannette "Memere" Coulombe, 87, of Sanford, a longtime resident of Biddeford, died December 17 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford after a long illness.She was born in Camp Meade, MD on February 4, 1921, a daughter of Eugene and Marie Anna (Dubois) Dorais. She grew up in Biddeford and attended St. Andre's School.She was employed over the years with the Pepperell Mfg. Co., the Bates Mfg. Co., and with White Star Laundry, all in Biddeford. She was a member and past president of the Fremont Club.Memere moved to Sanford 25 years ago and was a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church. She was an honorary member of the AMVETS Auxiliary in Sanford.She loved to play cards, was an avid knitter and a Bingo fanatic.Her husband, Ludger R. Coulombe, died in 1991.Survivors include 2 daughters, Lucille Turgeon of Sanford, Rachel A. Roy and her husband Maurice of Biddeford, 2 sisters, Jeanne d'Arc Simard of Virginia, Claire Fortier of Phoeniz, AZ, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church in Sanford. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Biddeford.
