Jeanne (Pascucci) Gauthier, formerly of Sanford, passed away peacefully in her daughter's home in Savoy, IL on October 23, 2016, after a brief illness. She was born Jeanne Alice Pascucci in Sanford, Maine on March 14, 1936 to parents Mary Elizabeth (O'Donnell) Pascucci and Pietro Ernesto Pascucci.Losing her father to illness as a young girl, Jeanne and her sister Margaret "Peggy" grew up in the loving home of their mother, Mary, and Jeanne graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1954. Jeanne earned her diploma in nursing at Mercy Hospital in Portland in 1957 and worked as a registered nurse for the next 47 years in public health, school-nursing, and for the longest amount of time as both a bedside nurse and night shift clinical supervisor at her beloved H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. In 1981, Jeanne obtained her BS Degree from St. Joseph's College.Jeanne married Aldege S. Gauthier in Sanford, Maine on April 25, 1959 at St. Ignatius Church. He preceded her in death on August 26, 1986. Two children were born to that union; Catherine (Gauthier) Leipold of Savoy, IL, and Stephen Gauthier of Tamworth, NH. She is also survived by her son in law, Andrew Leipold of Savoy, IL; her daughter in law, Raelene Gauthier of Tamworth, NH; four grandchildren, Shane, Michael, Selena and Stephen, her younger sister, Margaret Hosker of Maryland. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the local Animal Humane Shelter of your choice in honor of Jeanne's faithful golden retriever, Gracie.
