Janice Litwinsky

Janice M. Litwinsky, 58, of Springvale, passed away on Sunday January 8, 2006 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was born in Boston, MA on December 9, 1947 a daughter of George F. and Alice M. (Kirylo) Litwinsky. Janice was brought up in Cambridge, MA. She graduated from Cambridge Latin. She eventually made her way to Maine and has been a resident for the past 30 years. She also attended the University of Southern Maine in Portland.Janice brought her generous and humorous spirit to all she encountered. She was a proud friend of Bill W. for 30 years and assisted many others in finding their path to recovery. She worked at Crossroads For Women for 5 years and also at the Mercy Hospital Alcohol Institute as well as being a private substance abuse counselor.She is survived by her partner, Kate F. Meredith of Springvale, grandson, Kegan, mother, Alice McGuiness, daughters, Sherry and Tracy, brothers, Jack Litwinsky and his wife Kaori, and Thomas as well as two grandsons in CA.Visiting hours will be from 6-8pm on Tuesday January 10 at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11am.
