Jane Mossey Landry
Jane Elizabeth (Mossey) Landry passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024, at the Lodges in Springvale, Maine, after a short illness. She was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, on April 29, 1947, to Dorothy (Wood) and Gardner Mossey.
Jane graduated from Fitchburg High School and married her high school sweetheart Roger, who promptly whisked her away (much to her mother's chagrin) to a life of constant relocation in the military.
Over the next 23 years, Jane was the epitome of a military wife. She raised her family and moved every four years to eight duty stations in Italy, England, Spain, and the US. In addition to fortifying the family base, Jane worked in many aspects of youth education, including running the Youth Center in Aviano, Italy, and at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio.
She and Roger settled in Sanford, Maine, after Roger retired from the Air Force. There, Jane continued her work as an education technician in special education at Carl J Lamb School.
Jane enjoyed reading, traveling, Judge Judy, dining out with her friends, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband Roger, brother Michael Mossey, and her parents.
She is survived by her three children: Darrin Landry and wife Deb of Saco, Dean Landry and wife Lorie of Sanford, and Dawn Clark and husband Justin of Acton. Eight grandchildren, Devan Landry, Drew Landry and wife Christie Landry, Caterina Cacciagrani, Tori Boissonneault, Morgan Landry, Madison Gadbois, Camille Saucier, and Cheryl Gifford, and five great-grandchildren, including newborns Kylan Poole and Sophie Landry, her siblings Carol Cormier, John Mossey, and Paul Mossey of Massachusetts, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Jane will be buried alongside Roger in a private ceremony later this spring at the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Springvale, Maine.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider a donation in Jane’s name to the hospice and palliative care center Affinity Health Management in Scarborough.

Love you Aunt Jane. May you rese in eternal peace. 🙏
I remember Aunt Jane as such a sweet person who always took an interest in what you were up to. I remember her as a quiet, almost shy, thoughtful and kind Aunt. She had a beautiful smile and laugh. I always noticed how connected she was to Uncle Roger. She beamed when he was with her.
She recently started loving to watch football!
Love you so much Nana, I will miss you so so much.
We have many wonderful family memories of visiting with Aunt Jane and Uncle Roger over the years, and they visited us while we lived in Hong Kong back in 1998 as well. Aunt Jane was such a sweet and loving person who always enjoyed her time with family, and I can still hear her very cheerful and heartfelt laugh! She will be greatly missed!!
She was a loving grandmother!! She would do anything for us.
I love you nana. I’ll miss you everyday.
She had a stuffed bear that she loved to decorate for each holiday.
