James P. Spinney

James P. "Pat" Spinney, 67, of Augusta, died April 1 at the VA Regional Medical Center in Augusta after a long illness.He was born in Biddeford on October 6, 1943, the son of Harold and Blanche Spinney. He attended Acton Elementary School and was a graduate of Sanford High School.Pat was a veteran of the US Navy.In his younger years, Pat worked in construction.His family recalled that he was a very helpful man with a great sense of humor.Survivors include three brothers, Michael Spinney and his wife Patricia of No. Attleboro, MA, John A. Spinney of Acton, Harold B. Spinney and his wife Katherine of Sanford, two sisters, Pauline M. Doiron and her husband Roland of Sanford, Ada T. Spinney of Biddeford and several nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be conducted on Monday at 10:00 AM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. Burial with military honors will follow at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Vet Center, 628 Main Street, Springvale, ME 04083Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.
