Jacqueline A. ShawSanford, MaineJacqueline A. Shaw, 74, of 8 Lucerne Street, died Sunday, September 9, 2001 at Goodall Hospital in Sanford. She was born in Springvale, March 4, 1927, a daughter of Albion R. and Mildred Russell Goodrich, and lived in Springvale and Sanford all her life.She attended local schools and graduated from Sanford High in 1945. Mrs. Shaw received her Associate's degree in Home Economics from Nasson College in 1947, where she went on to acquire her Bachelor's degree in English in 1966. She then received her Masters Degree in Maine History from University of Southern Maine in 1972.She married Robert Shaw on June 15, 1947. Mr. Shaw died June 15 of this year, on their 54th Anniversary.Mrs. Shaw retired as a teacher after 20 years of service. Jackie taught one year for the North Berwick school system and taught at Sanford Junior High School for 19 years.Jackie was an avid student of Maine History and had a large collection of slides and books on Maine.She was a member of The Shapleigh Corner Baptist Church where she headed the annual craft fairs held there at the church.Mrs. Shaw's most important interests included her family and travel. She enjoyed reading and Crafts. She was an artist who had a great talent for painting.She is survived by sons Stephen of Sanford and Robert, Jr. of Leominster, MA; a daughter, Pamela Bors of Alfred; a brother, Keith R. Goodrich of Springvale; and five grandchildren.Relatives and friends may gather from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Thursday at Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, ME. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday at The First Baptist Church of Springvale. Rev. Les Dorr of Shapleigh will officiate, assisted by Rev. Kenneth Keating. A gathering for fellowship and refreshments will follow in the church vestry. For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to The Shapleigh Corner Baptist Church P.O.
