Donald (Joe) Vermette, 62, of Sokokis TrailSouth, Limerick, died suddenly February 25, 2002 inLimerick.He was born in Limerick, a son of the late Lucien andMaria Vermette, and was a graduate of Limerick HighSchool. He served in the United States Air Force.He worked for W.B. Tripp Oil Company, Cornish, and 34years at CYRO Industries, Sanford.Her served as the first president of St. Matthew'sParish Council and was a current member of the Knightsof Columbus. He served on the Limerick FireDepartment for 46 years and the Rescue Squad forseveral years. He was happiest when helping familyand friends build and remodel their homes. Hisgrandchildren were very dear to him.He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Elaine CarrollVermette, five children, Kevin Vermette and his wifeKerry of Alfred, Theresa Vermette Gaetjens and herhusband Ray of Limerick, Victoria Vermette and herfiance Brian Cabral of Newport, Rhode Island, DominicVermette and his wife Cynthia of Limerick, MaryVermette Graham and her husband Joshua of Limerick and13 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. He is alsosurvived by his six siblings, Andre Vermette and hiswife Joanne of Springvale, Margaret Brown and herhusband Robert of Sanford, Carmen LePage and herhusband Rodney of Limerick, Maurice Vermette and hiswife Jeannette of Sanford, Philip Vermette and hiswife Theresa of Sanford, brother-in-law Frank Mansonof Limerick. He is predeceased by his sister Jeanette and brotherNorman.Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday February 27th from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, Limerick Chapel inLimerick, ME. On Thursday please meet the family at church for an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at St. Matthews R. C.
