Isabelle O. AbbottE. WaterboroIsabelle O. Abbott, 82 years old, of E. Waterboro died Saturday September 11, 2004 at her home.Mrs. Abbott was born on May 22, 1922 in Somerville, MA. She was the daughter of the late George and Ruby Gould Oliver. She attended Mass. schools, and was a 1941 graduate of Somerville High School.Since 1933 Isabelle and her family summered in Maine. It was here that she met Forrest Abbott Jr., and in January of 1947 she married Mr. Abbott and moved to Maine.Isabelle worked for many years at the family shop, and store, F.M. Abbott Power Equipment, as well as being a dedicated wife and mother. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, and kitting, and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a charter member of the Rehoboth Rebecca's, and served as financial secretary for many years. After retirement Isabelle and her husband would travel to Florida in their motor home.Family was very important to Mrs. Abbott, and every Sunday was spent with the grandchildren. Often they would all pile in the car for a trip to the Sanford McDonalds for burgers, a special treat for everyone.Predeceasing Mrs. Abbott is a brother George, a sister Mary, and her granddaughter Jennifer.Surviving is her husband of 57 years Forrest Abbott Jr. of E. Waterboro; three sons, Douglas and Constance Abbott of E. Waterboro, Dennis and Sharon Abbott of E. Waterboro, David and Judith Abbott of Lyman, ten grandchildren, Michelle, Stephanie, Michael, Christine, John, Todd, Gregory, Sarah, Katie, and Melissa; eleven great-grandchildren, a sister Thelma Silva of Saugus, MA, and a brother James and Arlene Oliver of E. Waterboro.A period of visitation for Mrs. Abbott will be held on Wednesday September 15, 2004 from 6 PM to 8PM at the Heald Funeral Home, Springvale, ME. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday the 16th at the East Waterboro Free Baptist Church.For those that desire, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 122 State Street, Augusta, Maine 04330-5615.
