Irene I. Buzzell

Irene I. Buzzell, 79 of Sanford, ME died Thursday April 11, 2002 at her home.Mrs. Buzzell was born on December 5, 1922 in Old Orchard Beach, ME. She was the daughter of William and Arletta Boocock Luby.She attended Sanford schools and graduated with the Sanford High Class of 1942. Mrs. Buzzell worked for 26 years at the Universal Shoe Co., 8 years at Cyro Industries, and 4 years at The Colony in Kennebunkport before officially retiring in 1996. Mrs. Buzzell was a charter member and lifetime member of the Sanford-Springvale VFW Auxiliary 9935. She enjoyed line dancing, exercising, watching scary movies and caring for her cat.Surviving are two sons, Frederick Buzzell of N.C., John (Gail) Buzzell of Farmington, NH; two grandsons, Benjamin (Lee) Buzzell of Dover, NH, Patrick Buzzell of KY, and a great grandson Kyle Hocter.A period of visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Monday April 15th at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale, ME; where funeral services will be held on Tuesday the 16th at 10:00 AM.
