Irene S. Bishop

Irene S. Bishop, 87 years old, of Springvale, ME died Monday evening September 6, 2004 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford.Mrs. Bishop was born on November 18, 1916 in Sanford, ME. She was the daughter of the late John and Esther Dodsworth Simpson. She attended local schools and for a short period of time worked at the Aletta Dress Shop.Playing the Piano, crossword puzzles, and cooking brought Mrs. Bishop a lot of pleasure. She loved the first snow of the year so she could go out and shovel, and found herself busy with housework, which she loved to do.Predeceasing Irene is her husband Nelson, a brother Norman, and two sisters, Elsie, and Evelyn. Surviving is a son Barry of Lyman, ME; three grandchildren, Brenda, Brian, and Brice, as well as four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.The public is invited to attend a 1:00 PM graveside service on Friday the 10th of September at Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford, ME.
