Hosea K. Wallingford, 70, of Buxton and formerly of Sanford, passed away in Buxton on Wednesday, February 9. 2011. He was born in Waterboro on July 19, 1940, a son of the late Walter and Hattie (Littlefield) Wallingford. "Pops" as many knew him, lived a carefree life. He was always on the go, but always had time to stop and say hello. He seemed to be more concerned with others' well being than his own. If asked how he was, his reply was always "Oh, pretty good", regardless of how he was truly feeling.If Pops liked you, you had a friend for life. He loved the outdoors and going fishing. He especially enjoyed his one on one time with his granddaughter, Brittany. They had a very special bond. He was truly loved and will be forever in his family's heart.He is predeceased by his wife, Irma (Wyman) Wallingford, two brothers, Normand and James Wallingford, and a sister, Irma Sprague.He is survived by his children, Tracy Richardson and her husband, Kevin of Buxton, Brian Wallingford of Limerick, Tammy Egan and her husband John of Springvale, two sisters, Ramona Whitford of Deblois, Maine and Robbin Sprague and her husband, Ed of Acton and six grandchildren.A graveside service will be held in the spring at Oakdale Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, Maine.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com
