Herbert A. Pike

Acton, MaineHerbert A. Pike, 83, of Acton, ME., died January 18, 2002 at his residence in Acton.He was born on April 19, 1918 in Boston, MA., he was the son of Archibald and Bertha Shaw Pike and attended schools there.Mr. Pike worked as a manager for Kayem Meat Packing Co. in Chelsea, MA., and for Bf Goodrich Rubber Co. in Watertown, MA.He was a 32 degree Mason and a 50 plus year member of The King Soloman Lodge in Sommerville, MA.Mr. Pike was very much at home on the water. In his younger days he had an oceangoing boat which he would race. He enjoyed working with his hands, especially with wood.He is survived by his wife Mary Wiejkus Pike of Acton; his son Jeffrey Pike of Portland Oregon; his daughter Cynthia Walkling of Wilmington, MA; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held privately.
