Harry James (Jimmy) Seavey, 59, of Lebanon, passed away on Friday June 30 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Portland on June 23, 1947, a son of the late Norman F. and Eldrith M. (Whittemore) Seavey. He is a descendent of the Seavey Family of Pine Point. He attended South Portland Schools, York County Community College and many other centers of higher learning.br>He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He enjoyed gardening, his yard, his neighbors, and the wonder of the natural world. To say this man will be missed is an understatement. To those who knew and loved him, he gave the presence of a higher standard, a stronger character, and a deeper love. He achieved all of this in one simple way: Harry lead by example.Harry is survived by his spouse, Elizabeth A. Gerrish of Lebanon, four brothers, Robert Loveitt and wife, Arliss of Tampa, FL, Richard Loveitt of Forestille, CA, and David Armstrong of Tampa, FL, George Seavey of South Portland, four sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur and Barbara Revell of Lampy, MO, Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Norma Rocray of Biddeford, Rita Carr of Westbrook, Eileen Landry of Kennebunk, uncle Charles Whittemore of Newfield, aunt Georgiana Whitemore of Portland. Jimmy put those he loved before himself, and he made sure to mention the following people, his mother in law, Dixie Gerrish, brother and sister in laws, Eva and Dwayne (Hoodsie) Hood of Sanford, Brian and Norma Gerrish of Springvale, Merton Gerrish and Cyndy Houde of Sanford, Gayle Gerrish and Irene Raye of Sanford, Errol and Paula Gerrish of Springvale, and many nieces and nephews. He was thankful for the doctors, nurses and staff of H.D. Goodall Hospital, Beacon Hospice Hospice Homecare, and many others. He is preceded by a very special nephew Bobby Rocray, and brother in law, Blaine Gerrish.Special thanks to his brother and sister in law, especially Hoodsie for giving him the freedom that allowed him to stay at home; for Jordan Pike for being a son, and friends, Wayne Morse for long talks, Bob Cordice for inspiration, and Eric Tonini who he knew forever.Family and friends are invited to visit and share memories on Saturday July 8 from 5-7pm at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street Springvale.Condolences may be expressed by using the tab to the left.
