Harriet M. Desmond

Harriet M. Desmond, 72, of Sanford, died on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford.Harriet was born in Allagash, ME on September 8, 1939 to Herbert and Sarah (Hafford) Worster Sr. where she grew up and attended local schools. Harriet was employed as a bookkeeper but her main focus in life was caring for and raising her daughter. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Harriet was predeceased by five siblings, Nancy Hitchcock, Herbert Worster Jr., Reginald Worster, Violette Elizabeth Worster and Susan Schlichte.Surviving are her daughter, Jessica Desmond of Sanford; her gaanddaughter, Sophia Moorehead of Sanford; six siblings, William Worster and his wife Jean of New York, Freeman Worster and his wife Theresa of Massachusetts, Joseph Worster of Massachusetts, Rodnay Worster and his wife Theresa of New York, Betty Gahagan of Sanford and Bonnie Cyr and her husband Wallace of Hollis and Many nieces and nephews.At Harriet's request there will be no formal funeral services.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Breathe Easy Pulmonary Rehab Program at Goodall Hospital, 25 June Street, Sanford, Maine 04073.Arrangements are under the direction of Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home in Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the concolences tab to the left.
