Harold B. Smith

Harold B. Smith, 63, of Springvale, formerly of York, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 15, 2005 at Goodall Hospital in Sanford.Harold was born April 26, 1942 in Sanford to Mr. Benjamin Smith and Mrs. Marion Daigle. He was a Sanford High School Graduate. After high school, Harold served in the Coast Guard for four years and then went on to work for Central Maine Power Company as a lineman for 38 years. Harold married his wife Donna in 1966.Mr. Smith was an avid NASCAR fan, he enjoyed snowmobiling and working in his garden growing tomatoes and cucumbers. Family life was very important to Harold; he was a very caring man who was deeply loved by his family and friends. Traveling was another activity that he enjoyed, he recently returned from a trip to Alaska.Surviving are his wife, Donna Smith, of Springvale; his son, Michael Smith of Ogunquit; his parents, Benjamin Smith of Springvale and Marion Parshley of York Harbor; two brothers, Greg Parshley of York and Robert Parshley of Portland and his sister, Nancy Knapp of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.A memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. Interment will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery in South Berwick at the convenience of the family.
