SANFORD—Harold R. Hall, Jr., 83, of Sanford, died Monday September 30 in Berwick.
He was born in Alfred February 25, 1941 the son of Harold R. Sr. and Christine (Whitehouse) Hall. He grew up in Alfred and graduated from Sanford High School. He married Joanne Chase right out of high school and they would have celebrated their 65th anniversary this year.
Harold worked at several jobs before settling into a career in truck driving, spending many years doing long-haul work. He drove over a million miles without an accident. Later he worked as an equipment operator in the construction industry.
Mr. Hall enjoyed the outdoors, spending countless hours riding snowmobiles and motorcycles, hunting, fishing and taking trips to Moosehead for outdoor adventures. He even rode to Moosehead with a broken leg on his motorcycle just so he didn’t miss out on the fun with his friends.
Harold was predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Barbara Grondin and Betty Yates.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Hall; his children, Tammy Tranchemontagne and her husband Charles, Alan Hall and his wife Jill and Kenneth Hall and his wife Jennifer; his brother, Kenneth Hall and his wife Rachel; his grandchildren, Tarsha Rockowitz, John Hall, Ashley Hall, Travis Chaisson, Corey Chaisson, Joshua Wayne, Abby Smith, Paige Tranchemontagne, Alexis Charrette and Sydney Hall as well as sixteen great-grandchildren.
To Celebrate Harold's life, on Saturday, October 19 at 11 AM we will gather at the Brothers located at 132 Shaker Hill Rd., Alfred, ME. A light luncheon and refreshments will be served. We look forward to those of you that able join us to remember Harold.
