Gordon Cyril Weyland, 86, of Acton, passed away early Monday morning on May 30, 2011 at the Goodall Hospital. He was born in Emery Mills on February 6, 1925.In 1951 he married his wife of 55 years, Norma Nan Barsantee, whom he was predeceased by in 2006. Gordon lived his life as a man who knew no bounds. His character was defined and determined. He never found a task that he couldn't complete or a job that he could not accomplish. As a logger he ran his own business for over 20 years and spent his later years working for the Town of Acton where he resided. The talents and trades that he possessed ranged that of a true working man. Gordon favored the outdoors like no other. He spent days hunting and fishing with those he loved and working in the forest. A man with simple likings, one would often find Gordon enjoying black coffee and cigars with the company of friends and family. He was a caring, thoughtful, thorough man who always knew where he stood. He knew that love and charity started at home and he lived by example. The memory of Gordon's voice filling the air with talented storytelling of his lively past is affectionately held by those that knew him.
