Gordon F. Urquhart

Gordon F. Urquhart, 89 years old, of Shapleigh, ME died Monday November 28, 2005 at H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford.Mr. Urquhart was born on August 6, 1916 in West Jonesport, Maine. He was the son of Clyde and Almira Norton Urquhart. He graduated from West Jonesport High School, and enlisted in the conservation corps. Following his service in the corps Mr. Urquhart enlisted in the Navy, and proudly served his country during WWII.Mr. Urquhart was an avid bowler and reader. He enjoyed the companionship of his family and pitching horseshoes with his friends.Predeceasing Mr. Urquhart is a son Dale, two brothers, and two sisters.Surviving is his wife of 53 years Dorothy Russell Urquhart, five daughters, Jo Urquhart of Warren, ME, Karen Nelson-Malcolm of Warren, ME, Lee Daudelin of Lebanon, ME, Patti-Jo Mayo of LeHigh Acres, FL, Traci Urquhart of Shapleigh, ME; two sons, Steven Urquhart of W. Franklin, NH, Tain Urquhart of Portsmouth, NH; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.A period of visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale, ME; where services will be held on Thursday the 1st of December at 11:00 AM.For those that desire the family suggest that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 343 Gorham Rd., S.
