Gordon N. Hubbard, 47, of Sanford, died at his home on Sunday, March 26, 2006, surrounded by family and friends.Gordon was born in Sanford on October 28, 1958 to Arlene Hubbard Pease. He attended local schools. Gordon was a good natured and caring person; he had a happy-go-lucky personality and was always joking with people. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and always had time to take a minute to look at a nice Harley when he had the opportunity. He had a large model of a Harley Davidson in his bedroom that he won in a raffle. Gordon was a big NASCAR fan, he loved watching the races on T.V. and would jump at the opportunity to see a race in person when it was possible. Building model cars and trucks was also a favorite pastime of his; he had many models that he had built over the years and took great pride in showing them to people. Gordon's family was the highlight of his life, he loved to spend time with them, especially his many grandchildren.Gordon was an unforgettable person. He appreciated the simple pleasures in life and enjoyed the opportunity to share them with people when it presented itself. He was always looking out for the people around him. Gordon was respected and loved by everyone who knew him and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his mother, Arlene Pease of Sanford; his wife, Donna Hubbard of Sanford; three sons, Dana James Hubbard, Gordon Joseph Moran and Gary Wayne Moran, all of Sanford; four daughters, Tina Marie Hubbard of Portland, Heather St. Armand and Vivian Smith, and Trista Evans all of Sanford; three brothers, Gary Brown and Claude Welch, both of Sanford, Scott Welch of Kennebunk, and 17 grandchildren.A period of visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 from 2:00 to 3:00PM; followed by a 3:00 PM funeral service at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gordon's memory may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1 Main Street, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086 or the American Diabetes Foundation, 10 Bangor Street, Suite F, Augusta, ME 04330.
