Gloria J. Peare, 56, of Sanford, ME died Thursday afternoon April 11, 2002 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland.Mrs. Peare was born on March 16, 1946 in Cornish, ME. She is the daughter of Orion and Mildred (Harmon) Stanley. On May 1st of 1965 she was married to Abbott Peare Jr.Mrs. Peare is a graduate of Fryeburg Academy, and attended McIntosh College of Dover, NH. She worked for over 15 years at Augat/Tyco Electronics in Sanford. She is a member of the Sanford First Baptist Church; where she was involved in various church groups and functions.Collecting angels was one of Mrs. Peare's pastimes. She also enjoyed traveling, and she even took the opportunity to travel to England, and Ireland. Most people will remember Gloria as a good listener. She was always there to lend a helping hand, or a concerned ear. Being a good friend is what she did best.Predeceasing Mrs. Peare is a son Alan Peare, a daughter Jacquline Peare a granddaughter Haley Lynn Spaulding, a brother Donald Stanley, a brother-in-law Douglas Moss, and her stepfather Frederick Shackley.Surviving is her mother Mildred Harmon Shackley, her father Orion and Marion Stanley, her husband of 36 years Abbott Peare Jr. of Sanford, a daughter Tracy L. and Murray Spaulding of Lyman, and a grandson Christopher A. Smith. Also surviving are 11 brothers and sisters, Dorothy Martin, Rodney (Darlene) Shackley, Grace (Leland) Stevens, Fred (Kathy) Shackley, Mary Moss, Walter (Donna) Shackley, Owen (Debbie) Shackley, Daniel (Diane) Shackley, Barbara (Bruce) Benvie, Robin Waterhouse, Robert Stanley, and several nieces, and nephews.A period of visitation will be held on Monday April15th from 6 to 8 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale, ME. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday the 16th at 2:00 PM at the Sanford First Baptist Church. The Rev.
