Glenna M. Picken

Picken, 78, formerly of Prescott, Sanford, Maine, of Kennebunk, died June 11, 2001 at Southern Maine Medical Center, Biddeford, Maine.She was born on August 16, 1922, the daughter of James and Ora Gowen Westcott, and attended local schools graduating from Sanford High School in 1940.She Picken Married Joel I. Picken on April 14, 1967.Mrs. Picken Worked for The Sanford Goodall Mills as soon as she graduated from Sanford High School. She then worked for Sanford Bank and Trust. Mrs. Picken worked for and retired nearly twenty years ago from Westcott Ford Sales.She was the past director of the children's choir at The Springvale Free Baptist Church.She loved music and had a great voice which she took many voice lessons to accomplish. Mrs. Picken used her singing talents all around this area singing in many area events.She is survived by her brothers, Melvin "Cuddy" Westcott, Alfred, Maine, David G. Westcott, Waterboro, Maine; a sister Nathalie W. Wells, South Portland, Maine; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends may call from 12:00 PM till 1:00 PM on Friday at Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, Maine, where a funeral will be held at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Springvale, Maine.
