Gilbert Michaud

Gilbert Michaud, 90 years old of Orlando, FL, and Sanford, ME died December 18, 2006 in Orlando, FL. Gilbert was born on February 5, 1917 in Fort Kent, ME. He was the son of Joseph and Alice Madore Michaud. Following his schooling Gilbert proudly served his country during WWII with the United States Army.Gilbert moved from Fort Kent to Sanford at a young age, and for several years Gilbert worked as a machine repairman at the Sanford Mills. He later worked at Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford.Gilbert loved to spend time outdoors, he enjoyed gardening, helping out his neighbors, but above all he loved to go to the beach, especially in Ogunquit.On November 11, 1960 Gilbert married Lucienne Cote, and began a life together full of love and happiness.Predeceasing Gilbert is a sister, Priscilla "Pat" Michaud, and a brother Luellyn Michaud.Surviving is his wife of 46 years Lucienne Michaud, a sister Yvette O'Brien, and several nieces, nephews and in-laws.An 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Therese Parish, Holy Family Church on April 28, 2007. Committal services will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.Services have been arranged through the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home of Sanford, ME.
