Germaine Venne

Germaine "Gerry" R. Venne, 87 years old, of Springvale, ME died Thursday morning, May 25, 2006 at H. D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford.Mrs. Venne was born in Tetford Mines P.Q. Canada on June 3, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Exelia (Lavallee) Mathieu.For many years Mrs. Venne worked at the S. B. Emery Company as a sales clerk, and gift wrapper. People often commented on the beautiful bows she created for their packages. She was a communicant of St. Ignatius Church in Sanford, and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Mrs. Venne enjoyed driving around town visiting friends, and delighted in sharing morning coffee with her friends at McDonalds.Predeceasing Mrs. Venne is her husband Roland N. Venne, her first husband Denniss C. Pullen, and a granddaughter, Denise Tuttle.Surviving are her daughters Elaine Cantin and her husband Donald of Sanford, Rita Pare and her husband Reynold of Alfred, a step-son Mark Venne of North Berwick; two grandsons, Duane Weeks, and Chad Belanger; two great-granddaughters, Candace Weeks, and Melinda Weeks; a sister, Annette Pennell of Springvale, and several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours for Mrs. Venne will be held on Tuesday, May 30th from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St. Sanford, ME. An 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Church in Sanford on Wednesday the 31st of May. Committal services will be held on Thursday, June 1st at 12:00 PM at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Vennes' memory to the charity of ones choice.
