Gerard H. Beaurivage died peacefully Sunday morning at his daughter's home in Concord NH. He and his wife Edith (Drake) had recently relocated from their home on Twombley Road is Sanford.He was born in Sanford, Maine at his State Street home on July 11, 1923. In his youth he was an award winning newspaper boy and won two trips to the City of New York. He was a drum and Bugle Corps member. He was a graduate of Sanford High School Class of 1941. In his youth he loved to dance and taught many a local girl to jitterbug. He first worked at the South Portland Naval Shipyard at the start of WWII and then enlisted in the Air Force from 1943-1946, serving in the South Pacific.He was a successful fuller Brush salesman before working as a machinist at the Portsmouth Shipyard. He was active in the Union of St. Jean the Baptist for over 50 years, a member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis in Kennebunkport, and an American Legion Post 56 member. A member of St. Ignatius Parish all his life, he will be remembered for his religious devotion and faith.He is predeceased by his father and mother, Francois Xavier and Josephine (Levesque) Beaurivage and his brother John.He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Edith (Drake) Beaurivage of Concord, NH; two daughters Mary, who currently resides in Biddeford, ME and Rosanne and son-in-law David Belser who reside in Concord, NH; two nieces, Elaine Beaurivage and Joanne Ranberg, both of Sanford and one nephew, Robert Beaurivage of San Diego, CA.A period of visitation will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2005 from 3:30 to 6:00 P.M. at Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home located at 29 Winter Street in Sanford, Maine. A funeral mass will be held at St. Ignatius Church in Sanford on Friday, September 30, 2005 at 1:00 PM, interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.
