Geraldine "Gerri" (Horn) Dishman, of Shapleigh, passed away December 30, 2022 at the age of 75 after a relatively short fight with esophageal cancer.
Gerri was born in Sanford, Maine on July 24, 1947 to the late Clinton Horn and Louise (Walley) Horn of Acton, Maine. Gerri grew up in Acton graduating from Sanford High School . After high school she attended college in NH before moving to Pennsylvania and attending Bible College. It was there in Pennsylvania that Gerri married and raised her three children, spending 30+ years there before returning to Maine. She was a stay at home mom until her children entered school and for quite a few years she was the babysitter for many other children in the town. All will fondly remember the daily baking that went on there.
After school Gerri was a waitress and cook at the Avondale Diner in PA were she was a fixture for 15+ years. She loved her work and her customers loved her.
Gerri was an avid baker and loved to make her family and friends cookies, cakes, pies and other confectionary delights.
Gerri was also well known for her handicrafts. She loved to knit and crochet along with numerous other mediums. Her latest crafting love was diamond paintings. She did beautiful work and thankfully loved to share her creations. She loved to make things all year just to enter into the Acton Fair.
She is survived by her children Shawn Ingiosi of Oxford, PA, Jami-Lyn (Ingiosi) Greer and husband Timmy of Oxford, PA and Ginger (Ingiosi) Fletcher and husband Robbie of Shapleigh, ME along with five grandchildren Chrystian Haney (Shapleigh,ME), Zachariah Greer (West Grove, PA), Miles Greer (West Grove, PA), Payton Ingiosi (Oxford,PA) and Gregory Roberts Jr. (Shapleigh, ME). She boasted of one great grandson Declan Swift who she loved to do crafts with.
She is also survived by brother Raymond Horn and wife Irene of Tamworth, NH, sister Hope Baldwin of Acton, ME, two nephews David Horn, Troy Baldwin and two nieces, Xann Horn and Kesia Baldwin along with numerous cousins.
A celebration of life is being planned for July of 2023.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
