Gary J. Lagasse

Gary J. Lagasse, 56, of Springvale, died at his home on Sunday, December 26, 2010.Gary was born in Caribou, ME on November 26, 1954 to Omer Lagasse and Aline Levesque. When he was a young boy his family moved to Connecticut where he grew up. When he got to be a young man he moved to Florida where he resided for 20 years. In the 1990's he moved to Maine so that he could be closer to family.During his working life Gary was employed as a paver, a painter and as an auto body repairman. He loved music and was a talented guitar player, which he learned to play himself by ear. He will be remembered as a kind and loving son, brother and friend and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.Gary was predeceased by a sister, Kimmy Lagasse.Surviving are his daughter, Bridgett Lagasse of Jacksonville, FL; his mother Aline Levesque of Sanford; his father and step-mother, Omer and Norma Lagasse of New Sweden, ME; his brother, Tommy J. Lagasse of Sanford; three sisters, Cheryl Lagasse of New Sweden, Laurie Lagasse of New Sweden and Brenda Lagasse of North Berwick; his goddaughter and niece, Jade Lagasse of Sanford and his niece Jaime Lagasse of Sanford.Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 PM with funeral prayers taking place at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 31st at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Cancer Society, New England Division, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.To leave a message of condolence for the family please visit www.blackfuneralhomes.com.
