Gale Delta Bergeron, 74, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
Born and raised in Sanford, Maine, Gale raised her two sons while working hard to provide for them, instilling in them the values of strength, dedication, and hard work.
Gale was a strong, resilient woman whose dedication to her family never wavered. She carried that same love and commitment into her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished being present for her grandchildren-supporting them in school, cheering them on at sporting events, and celebrating every milestone. Her love was steady, selfless, and deeply felt.
Later in life, due to circumstances beyond her control, Gale made her home in Sellersburg, Indiana. She spent the last seven years of her life there surrounded by family, living with her son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, and her sidekick companion, Mr. Charlie (the family dog).
She is survived by her son, Chad Bergeron (Rebecca); her grandchildren, Taylor May, Weston (McKenzie), and Shawn (Kaelyn); her great-grandchildren, Harper, Lauren, Avery, and Silas; and her siblings, Sue (Kenneth) Davis, Linda (Colin) Greene, Starr (Ronnie) Cote, and Nancy Baltzley.
She was preceded in death by her son, Shawn Bergeron; her parents, Kermit Albright Baltzley and Lois Anne Alexander Baltzley; and her brothers, Steve Baltzley and Glen Baltzley.
Arrangements in Indiana were entrusted to E.M. Coots’ Sons Funeral Home. Visitation for Gale and her son, Shawn, will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 4:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Black-Heald & Walker Funeral Home, located at 580 Main Street in Springvale, Maine.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
