Fred C. Fosgate

Lyman, MaineFred C. Fosgate, 82, of Lyman, Maine, formerly of Wilmington, MA, died December 9, 2002 at his residence in Lyman.He was born in Worcester, MA, on April 27, 1920 the son of Fred H. and Frances (Hill) Fosgate. He was raised and educated in Hudson, MA. He graduated from U Mass Amherst. Mr. Fosgate served in the United States Army during WWII and The Korean Conflict.He was employed by The Bank of Boston for 35 years before his retirement in 1985. He married Elizabeth (Reed) on May 23, 1953. They moved to Wilmington, MA in 1955. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Fosgate was a skilled woodworker who created beautiful furniture for family and friends. He enjoyed many summers on Wadleigh Pond. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth who died in 1995.He is survived by a son David Fosgate and his wife Jeanette of Lyman; a daughter Laurie LeBlanc and her husband Norman of Lyman; a granddaughter Zoe LeBlanc and grandson Jeffrey Fosgate.Graveside services will be announced in the spring.
