Portland - Franklin A. Fowler Jr., 74, died peacefully at his home on June 16, 2024, with his daughter and family by his side. Frank was born on December 6, 1949 in Portland, son of the late Franklin Fowler Sr. and Philomena Caiazzo. Frank was a devoted father, husband, and Grampy. He was a wise man of few words but laughed and loved wholeheartedly. Frank grew up in Portland and Old Orchard Beach where he played in a band, Sweet Grease, worked on telephone booths, and later had a career at Hobart. Frank loved gardening, fishing on the Portland Pier, and a good party with his family. Frank is predeceased by his beloved wife and true love, Laurie Fowler, they were reunited for their 39th wedding anniversary on June 22nd.; sisters, Loretta Zemla and Anna Ross. Frank is survived by his daughter Jennifer Albert and her husband Andre Albert; granddaughters and his pride and joy, Nola and Roslyn; brother Gary Fowler and his wife Nancy Fowler; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Frank was his daughter’s hero and was the epitome of an exceptional father, Grampy, and husband. His love and memories will carry on through his family and granddaughters. Per Franks's request, there will be no services but a celebration of life at a later date.

  1. We grew up together as close as brothers and sisters with our siblings, Loretta, Gary, Anna, Eddie, Anthony. Others, Laura Lee, Robin came along later, but time and distance separated us. Never separated in thoughts and hearts. Till we meet again, be free!

  2. So sorry to hear of Frank’s passing. We were friends,neighbors and housemates for years. He pops up in my memories frequently.
